Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. Genesis 6:22
Being obedient and doing everything that one is commanded to do is easy when it makes sense, and one completely understands what one is being told to do. Obedience often changes when things do not make clear sense or appears to be a complete waste of time and energy. People will quickly buck up against doing something that they do not like or understand. Obeying or not obeying can often lead one down very different paths in every area of life.
Moses records that God told Noah to build an extremely large boat. Then he records that Noah did everything God commanded him to do.
Managers in the workplace will sometimes ask a worker to do something that does not make sense. The good manager can see a bigger and clearer picture of what needs to be done than the worker is able to see. Good workers will be able to trust the good manager and will do what is asked without question.
Living for God means that one is willing to obey God in every situation that God puts the person in. There will be times in which God will call the believer to do something that does not make any sense.
Having never rained before, nor flooded, it did not make sense to build a large boat, yet Noah did it. It does not make sense to give up self to live for God.
Stepping out in blind faith, trusting God and doing what He commands is the mark of the believer who fully obeys God. When one believes in God and obeys Him, one will see God do great miracles in and through that believer. He will be able to provide in amazing ways as He did with Noah and save the world.
Going through life there will be many times in which you must obey some rule that you do not fully understand or agree with. It is often easily accepted in the workplace. In that same way you must be willing to do all that God commands you to do, even when it does not make any sense. Put your trust in God and believe that He knows best what you need to do it, when you need to do it and how you need to do it. God will use you to reach this world when you do what He commands.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what God is commanding you to do; that you will do all that God commands you to do; and that you will trust all that God commands of you.
