Ephesians 1:5 Planned To Adopted

having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, Ephesians 1:5

Millions of children around the world are living without parents for many different reasons. Many are placed into foster homes or orphanages to take care of them while they wait to be adopted into a loving family. Some will go their entire childhood life waiting to be adopted, with no one stepping up to take them in. They end up going through life with no real family to care and love on them.

Paul opens his letter to the Ephesian church telling them that they have been chosen by God’s great pleasure to be adopted as His children through Jesus.

Children are often seen as a nuisance and a great trouble. Taking care of them can cause one to have to choose a different career path or give up various pleasures in life. Satan uses these reasons and many more to break down the family and cause everyone to be alone.

Without a family, there is no real support or strength. Training in life is often missed. Wrong paths are often taken. Joy is missing.

Knowing that all of this would take place, God had a plan for each and every person that has ever lived. He planned to make a way to adopt every person as one of His children, to give them a home, a family and a Father who loves them. Doing this was His greatest pleasure.

This adoption would be made possible by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ upon the cross. All one has to do to be adopted is repent of sins and accept what Jesus has done. God is waiting to adopt everyone as His child, but He leaves that choice up to the individual.

You may or may not have known your physical parents in this life. Either way, you have an opportunity to become a part of God’s family. God is waiting to adopt you as His son or daughter. Jesus paid the extremely high cost of adopting you as God’s child. Do not allow another day go by in which you are not a part of His family. He has already planned to adopt you, but you must be willing to be adopted by Him.

Will you be adopted today?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God’s great love for you; that you will know God’s desire to adopt you as His child; and that you will be a part of God’s great family for all eternity.
