for he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ. Acts 18:28
Billions of types of facts and information are available all over the internet for everything one desires to know about. Claims can easily be made about something, whether it is true or not. One must be willing to be able to prove where the facts came from and their reliability. Being able to do this will increase one’s trustworthiness and increase the value of what was said. It is easy to make a statement, but harder to prove it.
In Acts, Luke records that Apollos was very strongly proving the Jews from Scripture that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah.
Trusting what people say is difficult, because words are easy to speak, but proving them is not easy. People can easily say anything that they want, and many believe what was said is true.
The world has many views about who Jesus was and is. One of them is rarely that He is the Messiah. It is more often that He was just a good prophet or teacher. Many even feel that He was a cultic leader or not even real, but just made up.
In order to go against the world’s views of Jesus, believers need to speak up and prove who Jesus is. Many are able to talk about who they believe Jesus is in their own words but are unable to show it from Scripture.
While it is good to have one’s own testimony, one also needs to be able to prove the words from the Bible. The reliability of the Bible can be easily proven and cannot be legitimately refuted. The world needs to hear the truth about who Jesus is, that He IS the Christ, the Messiah, the only one who can save. This is done through the words of the Bible.
When you seek information on a subject, you want it to be reliable and true. This should also go with when you speak to others that your words should be reliable, true and provable. Take time to study the Bible and be able to prove that Jesus is the Messiah. Be able to show the world where it says who Jesus is and why they need Him in their lives. Be the witness God has called you to be and build His kingdom here on earth.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the verses in the Bible that prove who Jesus is; that you will be bold in telling others, from Scripture who Jesus is; and that many will believe in Jesus through your testimony.
