When Christ Comes (book review)
Hearing the topic of Christ returning brings a lot of different thoughts to different people. Some fear it. Some look forward to it. Many are unsure what to think.
Max Lucado talks about Christ’s return being the beginning of the very best. He begins with Jesus leaving the earth telling the disciples to not worry but trust Him to return. Believers are to look forward to that day as a great day. Many people question His return but need to look at all the proof of His promises made and fulfilled.
One thing that believers can look forward to is the reunion with Christ for all eternity in new clothing with new life and no more suffering. His return is the beginning of eternity of eternal goodness and fellowship with God. Rewards will be given out. Sin will be no more.
Max encourages the believer to believe the words of Jesus and look forward to His return. Throughout this book he uses lots of scripture to back up what he is saying. He also uses lots of examples of his own life that illustrate some of the things he says.
At the end of the book is a section filled with many questions to help the reader in a deeper study of what he says in this book and applying it to one’s life.
I highly recommend reading this book. This is a fairly short read that is simple and not difficult to read. It will encourage the reader to look forward to the return of Jesus with excitement and not fear. It will also take the fear of His return out of one’s heart and mind.
