The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
Chaos and stress are a common feeling that most people are feeling every day. They are busy running like crazy and feel as though their world is crumbling around them. Many feel as if no one cares or loves them and that they are running their race all alone, with no hope of a good future.
Zephaniah tells the people that God is in their midst, rejoicing over them with gladness and singing, and quieting them with His love.
There are times when a child awakes in the middle of the night, scared and crying. One parent may go in to the child and hold the child. The parent’s presence is there with love and comfort, calming the child down.
This world is filled with chaos and horror. Violence, sickness, abuse, loneliness, confusion and death abound everywhere one looks. As a result, there is fear in the hearts of many, with no hope in sight. Some of this fear is sometimes found in the hearts of believers.
Believers need to know that God is right there in their midst, not just with the group of believers, but also with the individual. He is rejoicing over the believer and holding that one close to His heart. His love envelopes the believer to bring peace and quietness to the chaos, removing all fear.
God is not against the believer but is there to build and lift up the believer. One needs to take comfort and rest in His presence, knowing that God is in control and loves that one with a perfect and eternal love.
The world around you is in chaos and violence. Your own life may have lots of chaos going on, causing you to be afraid and filled with stress. You may feel as if you are all alone. You are not alone; God is with you. Know that God is rejoicing over you. Find His peace in knowing His great, eternal and perfect love for you. God is walking by your side through the chaos and destruction in this world as you trust in Him. Sing a song of joy and worship to God as He sings over you. You will make it through the chaos and stress.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the peace God has for you; that you will know God’s presence with you; and that you will hear God singing over you.
