Micah 6:3 What Has God Done Against You?

O My people, what have I done to you? And how have I wearied you? Testify against Me. Micah 6:3

There are people who weary out others in various ways. They will complain and complain about little things, wearing others down. Or they will continually bother them about things that don’t matter. Sometimes the accusations are true, and other times they are not true. When the accusations are not true, it will cause a wearing other people down and can sometimes push others away or make them angry, putting a wedge in the friendship or relationship.

Micah records God asking the people what He has done to them and how He has wearied them. He asks them to testify against Him.

When people do not have things going their way, they are quick to call out accusations against others. Blame is cast onto whoever gets in their way or is the one above them. This can commonly be seen nearly everywhere, in the workplaces and in homes.

People will often complain about God, sometimes directly to Him, while often to others about Him. They complain that things are going bad and all because of God, since He is not working their way. It is easy for a person to blame God when one does not see things from His perspective.

In God’s perfect love He does not do or allow anything that is ultimately harmful to a person. His goal is to build a person up, making the person more like Jesus–holy and righteous. He wants to have a closer relationship with every person. That process may include some difficulties and pain, but it is for the best interest of the person.

Instead of complaining and accusing God, one must be willing to trust God and give Him praise. One cannot honestly testify that God has done something wrong to them.

You will have people who do things against you. They may do it intentionally or unintentionally. It can wear you down. Walking the path God has you on may be very difficult at times and it may appear God is against you.

Everything God does or allows in your life is to build you up to be more like Christ. Do not allow situations in your life to cause you to complain against God as the Israelites did. Be strengthened and built up in Christ and draw closer to God through those situations, rather than complaining.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see how God is working to build you up; that you will not complain against God; and that you will testify to God’s goodness in your life.
