John L Cooper is the lead singer for the Christian rock band, Skillet. He also does a podcast and YouTube video called, Cooper Stuff. He is a man who is on fire for God and has a solid foundation in God and His word.
In this book he talks first about he never wanted to do anything political, but just wanted to make music for God. Since about 2021, with the many political and racist events that have occurred in America, he was bombarded as to why he didn’t say something. Living in Kenosha, Wisconsin, put him living at the center of some events that had occurred. This pushed him to write this book.
John begins looking back to Karl Marx and socialism and how it began and formed the thoughts and actions that are occurring today. Using many quotes and references to Karl Marx, and many others who learned from him, John shows how socialism always leads to pushing for revolutions and unrest.
Through the different teachings of socialist believers, one can easily see that the idea is to destroy Christianity and all moral standards to make a perfect utopia on earth. There is one chapter that looks strongly at how sexual standards of the Bible are done away with allowing anything to be permissible. Ultimately it has led to what America is currently doing with the full LGBQT+ movement using racism. It is destroying family life and all moral standards.
Throughout this book John consistently shows the fallacy of the Left’s talk and how they contradict themselves. There is a great description of what Critical Race Theory teaches and how it is also wrong. He also shows how these types of thinking has crept into the church and become accepted to the point in which there is no such thing as sin in some churches. He uses a lot of Scripture to back what he is saying is wrong about the CRT and socialist beliefs.
In the last chapter, John sets out how one can combat these false teachings using how the Bible says one should live.
One of the sayings he says from the beginning to the end of the book is: “There is no such thing as Utopia. It is a lie. It denies the sinful nature of man, the existence of a transcendent God, and it denies God’s created order. We must burn Utopia to save the world.”
This book is written in a very scholarly way. There are hundreds of quotes and outside references to verify what he is saying is factual. I highly recommend reading this book. I personally list it in the top 5 best non-fiction books, outside of the Bible, that I have ever read. It helps one to understand what is occurring in America and why it is occurring. Then it finishes with how to combat it without physical fighting.
