So the seers shall be ashamed, and the diviners abashed; indeed they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God. Micah 3:7
When a person asks a question or seeks some advice, one expects an answer to be given. It will drive a person crazy if one asks and gets no answers. People are always searching for answers to questions that they have, and many times get no answer. Sometimes it is because they refuse to hear the answer that is being given. They are searching for a specific answer that is wrong.
Micah accuses the seers and diviners of being ashamed and covering their lips because there is no answer from God due to sin being accepted in their lives.
The world loves to ask questions about God that often make Him appear to be unloving or uncaring. Questions are not asked out of genuine concern, but to give reason to not believe in Him. They focus on reasons to not believe in God.
Inside the church there are people who are seeking answers from God but are also refusing to listen to what God has to say. They continue to live in a sinful way, rejecting what God says about that sin, and then they wonder why God does not answer them.
Every time God answers, the person hearing must be willing to listen and obey. If obedience is rejected, God will become silent since the person is refusing to listen anyways.
God is always ready to speak and guide people in their lives. He expects those who hear Him to obey Him in all that He says. However, He will not waste His time speaking to those who refuse to listen and obey and will be silent.
You expect people to give you an answer whenever you ask a question. The same goes for when you ask God a question. If God is being silent, take time to examine your life. What was the last thing God said to you? Did you listen to it and obey that message? Or did you reject it?
Be willing to repent and obey all the words of God. Seek God’s direction in what may be preventing you from hearing Him speak to you and then be willing to obey His word to you.
God is always wanting to speak to you, but are you willing to listen and obey?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear and obey when God speaks to you; that God will open your eyes to why you may not hear Him speaking to you; and that you will repent of your sins against God and know His forgiveness.
