Obadiah 1:15 Sowing And Reaping Actions

For the day of the Lord upon all the nations is near; as you have done, it shall be done to you; your reprisal shall return upon your own head. Obadiah 1:15

Every day people are interreacting with other people in many different ways and many different situations. Often people treat others with disrespect for what they believe. It is often seen as nothing for cutting someone else down in a very negative, non-helpful way. It is so common that most people do not think too much about it and do not expect anything to come because of it.

Obadiah warns Edom that the day of the Lord is coming upon all nations, and specifically to Edom. He says that just as they have done, it will be done to them, coming upon their heads for despising Israel in their time of need.

People like to cut others down, especially when someone is in need. Those in need are often seen as loafers and a drain upon society, trying to get everything for free. While this may be true for some, it is not true for all.

The world is under the influence of Satan and is out to steal, kill and destroy believers in any way it can. Sadly, this type of action has become part of those inside the church. It is common for some believers to cut others down, trying to destroy them, often because of something done wrong.

Every believer will have someone in their life that will have some need. It is the believer’s responsibility to meet that need as much as possible. Doing this is showing others the love of Christ, just as Christ has shown His love to the believer. As one shows love to others in meeting needs, God can meet the needs of the believer.

Instead of cutting others down or ignoring them, believers are to show God’s love and build them up in Christ Jesus.

There will always be someone who treats you badly or is in some great need that you can help with. Allow God to work through you, rather than have to bring down judgement upon you for your lack of actions or bad actions toward others. God will shower blessings upon you as you pour blessings upon others, including your enemies.

What actions will you reap because of what actions you are doing?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will act towards others in the same way Jesus has acted towards you; that God will be able to pour out blessings upon you; and that you will show God’s true love to all others in need around you.
