Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the latter days. Hosea 3:5
People are often searching for something. It is common for people to lose their keys or phone and have to take time to search for them. Or they are searching for some information on the internet to help them out in some situation that they are in. If a person searches hard enough and, in enough places, often they will find what they are looking for, but sometimes they will not.
Hosea records God saying that after the people of Israel go without a king for a time, they will return and seek God and David and will fear God and His goodness.
Searching for something physical is easy because there is only so many places that it may be found. While many people are searching for something physical, most people are searching for meaning and purpose in life. This is something not physical.
Very often the search for meaning is looked at as position, power, fame, drugs, sex and money. As people attain these things, they will often find themselves still short on what they are really wanting.
Finding true satisfaction and purpose is only found when a person returns from the world and begins seeking God and fearing only Him. God is easy to be found when one is searching for Him. He wants to be found. He wants to have fellowship with every person.
God gives true life that will last into eternity and provide peace and joy no matter what is occurring in a person’s life. He is able to give reason why a person is alive on this planet.
Just as you have diligently searched, probably many times, for something that you had lost, you must also be seeking God. Search to know God and have fellowship with Him more and more each day. Do not make seeking God something that you do only on Sundays in a church but make it a daily part of your routine and one that lasts all day long.
His Spirit is ready to lead and guide you on a path that is filled with purpose, life and joy that passes all understanding of those in the world.
Who or what are you searching for today?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God each day; that you will seek to know God more and more; that God will reveal more of Himself to you each day; and that you will fear only God.
