Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them. Ezekiel 38:7
In life there are many times a person must prepare themselves to be ready for something coming up. The amount of work needed to be prepared changes with what is coming up. Sometimes the preparation is for something good, while other times it is being prepared for a difficult situation that is arriving soon. The more a person is prepared ahead of time, the better one can handle the situation as it arrives.
Ezekiel records God telling the people of Gog to prepare, be ready and on guard with all those with them. They were preparing to strike Israel under God’s command.
Soldiers need to prepare to go to battle. This begins early with training for physical strength and endurance, and with learning the weapons that will be used. Further preparation includes knowing the enemy, where the enemy will be and how one will strike the enemy. All of these preparations must be done properly in order for one to be successful in battle.
In this world there are many physical wars going on, but there are billions of spiritual wars occurring daily. Every person on this planet is in a spiritual war, though the majority do not know it.
Every believer must understand that there is a spiritual war in their own lives and in the lives of those around them. Each believer must be prepared, be ready and on guard to go to battle against the dark spiritual forces in this world.
This is a battle with God as the supreme commander in control. God is the one who gives the training and the directions to fight the battle.
One will be ready, when one is being led by God and His word and is filled by His Holy Spirit.
You are in a spiritual battle for your soul and the souls of those around you. The world wants to destroy it and God wants to save it. God is ready and willing to train you for those battles against spiritual forces.
Be willing to study His word and be filled and led by His Holy Spirit to be prepared, ready and on guard for the battles that are coming. Do not ignore the leading of God’s Spirit and not be ready for it will cost you your soul.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will be prepared by God for the spiritual battles in your life and those around you; that you will be ready to fight the battles with God as your Commander; and that God will open your eyes to the spiritual battles in and around you.
