So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. Ezekiel 33:7
Everywhere one looks there are all types of different warnings. Traffic warnings, danger warnings, weather warnings and much more. The purpose of a warning is to let someone know of a possible change or danger coming up very soon. It is the responsibility of those in charge to give the proper warning for the right time and place.
Ezekiel records God telling him that He made him a watchman to Israel. Whenever he hears a word from God, he is to warn them for God.
It is very important that those who are to place or give a warning do so. If they do not someone can be injured or worse. People can choose on their own if they want to heed the warning or ignore and take a chance on what may occur.
Very often, ignoring a warning will lead to a disaster of some sort. People have ignored evacuation warnings for fires or hurricanes, only to be trapped, injured or killed by a fire or hurricane.
Right along with being a witness of the gospel message of Jesus, believers are also supposed to be giving a warning. Anyone who is living in sin and not repenting is heading for the judgement of God and condemnation in hell for eternity.
The world does not know this and needs to hear that warning to repent and be saved or be lost for eternity. Without the warning of the judgement for sin, the there is no need for Jesus. People need to hear the warning so that they can choose for themselves whether they will believe or not.
As you drive down the road, you will see many warning signs for various reasons. In the same way, if you are a believer, you have heard the warnings of God and chosen to follow Him. Others need to hear those warnings so that they can choose to believe and be saved.
Do not be afraid to speak the whole word of God that people need to hear. Give them the warnings of God and how they can be saved. God will give you the words to speak in every situation.
Are you giving the warning from God to the lost?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the warnings of God; that you will hear what God tells you to say; and that you will let others know of the warnings of God.
