But do not fear, O My servant Jacob, and do not be dismayed, O Israel! For behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity; Jeremiah 46:27
When people are in a difficult situation, they are often afraid. In hard places, most people do not know what to do or how to get out of those situations. As that happens, people begin to get afraid. They fear for their lives and for their future, not knowing what is going to happen next. They lose all hope of being rescued.
Jeremiah records God telling Israel to not fear or be dismayed because He will save them and their offspring out of the land of captivity.
Most people around the world consider themselves relatively to fully free. For the most part they can go where they want and make their own choices in life. There are others who are in captivity of some form or another. Captivity in sexual slavery or in actual imprisonment.
Although the majority feel they are free, the majority are actually in captivity of a different type. People are held captive in sin and sinful ways of living. They are blinded to the truth of captivity in which they are in. As a result, there is high levels of fear. Fear of death, fear of failure, fear of harm and much more.
Believers will sometimes be bound with fear. They are ridiculed and put down as a believer. Troubles occur to a level that many feel they are in bondage to others, and they begin to fear.
Rather than giving in to fear, believers are to not be afraid but trust in God. In His timing and His way, God will save those who put their trust in Him. When all is said and done, the believer will inherit eternal life in heaven through salvation by the blood of Jesus.
There are things in your life that probably seem overwhelming and cause you to begin to fear. You may feel that there is no way out and are losing hope. Do not allow your circumstances bring you down into fear. Put your hope in God and do not be afraid. God will save you and keep you. He is making you into a new creation that will live forever in heaven with Him. Wait and see the hand of God bring about salvation from problems and sin in your life.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will strengthen you to be rid of all fear; that you will put your trust in God to save you; and that you will see the hand of God bring about salvation in many different ways in your life.
