For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
Help wanted signs can be seen in many different business places. They are searching for someone to work with them to help them accomplish their goals. No one can do everything alone, but need help in some things.
Finding help is often difficult. Often people do not want to get their hands dirty with certain jobs or they want more than what is offered. The employer is often left to do the work alone.
Just as the employer works alone, many people work alone with problems that they are facing. No one can be found to help them deal with bad situations in their life.
Isaiah quotes God in saying that He is taking hold of their hand and helping them. God tells Israel to not fear, despite what is going on.
Fear is a common factor among most people. Fear of just about anything negative rises in the hearts of people.
People are searching for answers to the problems in life. They want to know how they can make it through the difficulties. Often they are searching for people or false gods to get their help.
Those who have chosen to follow God, have God to be their helper. He is right there taking a hold of their hand and telling them to no fear and that He is helping them.
God may take the person out of the situation, but will often leave the person in the situation, but be with them in it. Things are allowed in the life of a believer because of sin in this world and to build the person up. Situations will push a believer closer to God in trusting Him and holding on to His right hand.
You can also know the presence of God in your life. He is willing to hold your hand as you go through difficult situations in your life. He is also telling you to not fear.
With God holding your hand, you have nothing to fear. Nothing can permanently harm you or destroy you.
In supernatural ways God can fill you with His peace, love, strength, wisdom and anything else you need to make it through whatever you are going through. God will never leave you on your own, but will hold your hand, so do not fear, God is your helper.
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know God’s presence in your life; that you will know God is holding your hand in every situation; and that you will know God’s peace in your life.
Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong and do not fear; your God will come; he will come with a vengeance; with diving retribution he will come to save you.” Isaiah 35:4
Fear is a powerful factor in the lives of many people. Things come up that bring about fear. There is death, sickness and violence all around that cause fear in the hearts of people. All over the news and social media there is articles of fear. People are afraid of many different things going on.
Most people react to situations out of fear, rather than out of confidence and strength. This fear is caused by not knowing what the future really holds. All people usually see is problems and have no real hope.
Isaiah tells the people to say to those with a fearful heart to be strong and not fear. The reason they are not to fear is that God is coming to save them.
Without God there is a good reason to live in fear. There is no hope of things getting better when God is not in the picture. There is no hope of being saved from any disaster that comes. In fact, without God, all one has to look forward to is death and destruction. Apart from God there is no real life or hope.
Fear has made its way into the hearts of people in the church. Some have chosen to take their eyes off of God and focused on the problems of the world. It looks as if one will lose and death will win in the end.
However, if one is trusting in God and remembers what Jesus has said, they will know that salvation is coming, no matter how bad things get before He arrives.
As you go through your days, you will see and experience things that are horrible. It will look as though God has left you alone. Yet, God is working in your life.
God may pick you up and pull you out of the situation, immediately saving you as He did with Peter walking on the water. Other times you may have to keep walking into danger and through the danger, waiting for the second coming of Jesus.
Ultimately, when you trust in Jesus, you will be saved and given eternal life. Jesus has overcome death and sickness to give you that life. Wait on Him to arrive and save you. This trouble is only temporary.
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will choose to trust in God; that you will know the promises of God for your life; and that you will see God’s hand of salvation in your life.
