Jeremiah 12:10 Destroyed Vineyard

Many rulers have destroyed My vineyard, they have trodden My portion underfoot; they have made My pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. Jeremiah 12:10

There are times in which people have taken over some land and destroyed it. Usually, it is destroyed in the process of building new roads, buildings or some other structure. Other times it is destroyed just by not taking care of it and improperly using it, leaving trash behind. The plant and wildlife are no longer able to live there, and the value drops for reproduction of needed crops.

Jeremiah records God talking about how many rulers have destroyed His vineyard, Israel, by walking all over it and crushing it down, making it into a desolate wilderness.

Throughout the world there are many who are crying out about the physical destruction of the land. There is fear of pollution of the land and air, global warming, and overall killing the earth. Governments are working hard at implementing rules to help prevent the destruction and save the planet.

As they are attempting to save the planet there is a greater destruction going on. The lives of people are being destroyed and trodden down. Yes, this is occurring physically some, but it is occurring more with the hearts and souls.

Rulers are enacting rules to promote sinful activities and rule against God’s word. People are being deceived into following sinful ways, rather than the ways of God. Lives are becoming desolate, without hope, without purpose, without meaning. This is also occurring inside the church, as many are being deceived.

Believers are to stand strong upon God’s word and His truth. There is to be no compromise and following of the ways of the world. Each one is to be grafted into the Vine, Jesus, to bear fruit and multiply, not be barren and desolate.

The world around you is attempting to live without God and without His commands. They want you to also live in their sinful ways and get you trodden down and crushed in sin. Put your hope and trust in God and follow His ways. Do not allow the vineyard God has planted in you be made desolate and of no value. Nor allow the world to destroy the lives of others. Be His witness and cultivate the vineyard in your life and around your life to be productive for God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will allow God to cultivate the vineyard He has begun in your life; that God will protect your life from being trodden on by sin; and that your life will be productive for God.
