Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert. Isaiah 35:5-6
All around the world there are people who are sick, blind, deaf and lame and desire to be healed. Billions of dollars are spent annually to see doctors for possible cures. Along with the physical sickness, there is also a spiritual sickness that people spend billions to cure and are failing to find the cure.
Isaiah, looking forward to the time of Jesus, speaks of a time coming when the blind shall see, the deaf shall hear, the lame walk, and the dumb sing because there will be waters bursting forth in wilderness and desert.
With physical injuries or sickness, it is sometimes possible for doctors to find a cure. People desire to be whole and be able to live life to its fullest. Yet, despite finding physical wholeness, many are still blind, deaf, lame and dumb with the spiritual life being separate from God.
As Jesus walked on the earth, there were many people who were healed of physical problems. Though many were physically healed, His purpose was to heal the spiritual side of their lives. People are walking in physical wholeness, while being unable to see what God is doing, hear what God is saying, walking in His ways or in speaking His words.
The moment a person chooses to believe in Jesus and repent of all sins, one then becomes spiritually whole. One can begin to actually see what God is doing, hear what He is saying, walk in His righteous and holy ways, and speak His words. The water of the Holy Spirit will spring up in one’s life, giving a full and abundant life, regardless of physical status.
You may have some physical ailments that you desire God to get rid of, and some day that will occur, though maybe not until you step into heaven. However, God wants to cure your spiritual needs. You need to have ears that are open to what God is saying, eyes open to what God is doing, feet able to go where God is sending, and a mouth that is willing to speak what God is telling you to say. How is your spiritual life going?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will open your eyes to see what He is doing; that God will open your ears to hear what He is saying; that God will give you strength to go where He is leading; that God will give you words to speak; and that God will heal all of your physical needs.
