The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has seized the hypocrites: “Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?” He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, he who despise the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil: Isaiah 33:14-15
No one wants to go through a devasting major fire. Forest fires destroy everything in its path and most people will flee in fear of it and fear of death. The greater the fire, the greater the fear.
Isaiah says that those who are sinners are afraid of the coming fire of judgement. They are wondering who will survive it. He answers that it is those who walk righteously and keeps from doing, hearing and seeing sin.
Currently the world is constantly talking about the earth heating up and causing great disaster. There are concerns about being able to survive the damage that is coming. People are living in fear.
Since the world does not believe in God, nor know His word, they do not see that there is a coming judgement of fire upon the earth that will destroy all things that can be destroyed. Ultimately this world will be cast into the lake of fire and destroyed so that a new one can be made without sin and corruption.
As this world is living in fear of the coming fire, many will ask how they can survive it. There is only one way to survive the coming disaster. That one way is to flee sin, repent of all sin and follow Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Repentance and believing in Jesus is only the beginning of the salvation. One must also be transformed into a new creation and flee sin by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit.
Many have repented of sin and claim to believe in Jesus but have also chosen to continue to sin on purpose. People want the best of both worlds, the world of sin and the world of God. They will listen to and watch sin, accept bribes and be the oppressor. These people are lukewarm and will be spit out in the end. They have a reason to fear the coming fire.
Believers who truly repent and flee all sin, will know the true joy of salvation in Christ Jesus. They will not have fear of His coming judgement upon the world.
In your life you may or may not have ever had to flee a forest fire. Although there may not be a physical fire in your life, there is a spiritual one. The world is striving to drag you into hell with it and cause you to listen to, watch and accept sin as being good. Choose to repent of sin and flee all sin. Walk in the righteousness and power that Jesus and the Holy Spirit provide for you. Be the new creation that does not have to fear any coming fire or judgement.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will walk in the righteousness of Jesus; that you will flee all sin; that the Holy Spirit will guide you in living for God; and that God will remove all fear of any coming judgement against the world.
