Isaiah 29:15 Are You Hiding From God?

Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, and their works are in the dark; They say, “Who sees us?” and, “Who knows us?” Isaiah 29:15

Children love to play the game of hide and seek. They like to try and hide, hoping that the one who is it cannot find them and then they will win the game. As children grow up into being adults, many will continue to play the game, only in real life. They will try to hide what they do from others and do things in secret, in the dark.

Isaiah quotes God from saying woe to those who try to hide their works in the dark thinking that no one sees them or knows them.

When a person does something in the dark or behind closed doors, it is easy to think and believe that no one sees or knows about what is going on. People can easily do things in secret, so that it remains hidden. Many will try to erase their web browser histories on their computers or phones trying to keep hidden what is being done in secret.

This also occurs with people living in sin, trying to keep it hidden from God. They do not see God, so they think that God cannot see what they are doing. Going to church on Sundays, they look like believers, but in secret are living in sin, refusing to give up the sin.

Nothing is hidden from God’s sight. There will come a day of judgement against all who sin against God and refuse to repent and change their ways.

Believers need to repent of ALL sin and turn from their wicked ways and not try to hide their sin from God. God sees and knows and is willing to forgive, when one is willing to go to Him.

In your life you will be tempted to sin against God and attempt to keep it hidden from Him and other people. Although no one else may see it, God does. God sees everything, whether done in the open daylight, or behind closed doors in the dark recesses of your mind and heart. Do not hide your sin from God, but openly go before Him to repent and seek His strength to change your ways. Do not keep sinning and be cast out into utter darkness one day under the judgement of God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will repent of all sin before God; that you will know that God sees and knows all in your life; and that you will allow God into all areas of your life.
