Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backwards. Isaiah 1:4
America is a nation that was originally founded upon the Bible and Godly principles. There was respect for the church and believers throughout the nation as a whole. Since its foundation, the people have chosen to walk away from God to the point that it is considered good and acceptable to promote evil and sinful practices.
Isaiah quotes God at looking at how Israel had become a sinful nation filled with sin and evil doing. Their children are called corrupters for they had forsaken God and turned backwards in their ways of living.
Israel had been a nation that God had chosen and raised up. At some point the people chose, as a whole, to reject God and turn towards sin. Sin was not only done, but was promoted.
This same type of action has occurred on a national scale in America and on lower scales in churches around the world. Sin is seen as good and good is seen as evil. Instead of walking forward towards God and holiness, people have chosen to reject God and walk towards death and Satan. Many churches are now embracing the sinful ways of the world, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, drunkenness, lying, theft and more as though they are good.
Believers are to be set apart, holy unto God in all their ways. One may turn back towards sin, but God is ready to forgive if one repents and turns back towards Him. Following God is the only way to have true life and one that will last into eternity. If there is no return, there will come a day of judgement and death.
You live in a nation that does not embrace and follow God and His commands as a whole. As a believer, you have a choice to make as to how you will live your life. It will be easy to go with the flow and follow the ways of your nation in sin and rejection of God, but that will only bring about death in the end. Make the choice to repent of all sin and follow God, to be separate and holy unto God. Lead your nation back to God.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will repent of all sin against God; that you will be a witness of God’s holiness and requirements; that your nation will turn back towards God; and that you and your nation will not provoke God to anger.
