The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. Proverbs 29:25
Various animals can be easily trapped by hiding a snare in the forest. The trap blends in with the surroundings so that the animal does not see it or know about it until it is too late. Some animals will be wise and are carefully watching their steps and stay away from a snare set to capture them. They keep focus on what will keep them alive and safe from being trapped.
Solomon states that the fear of man will bring about a trap, but trusting in God will keep one safe.
Most people do not fear getting trapped by someone else or any physical thing. People feel often feel the freedom to be able to move about without fear of being trapped.
Yet, while they do not fear being trapped, most people fear others. There is a fear of what others think, feel, say or may do. Everyone wants to blend in and feel like they are liked and not really different and hated. Many do not like to go against the mainstream of society.
Living in this way will snare a person in the trap of fear. Instead of living for God, many will choose to live like the world in sin fearing man, rather than God. It is easier for most to step into sin out of fear of what others feel, than to take a stand for God and trust Him.
Believers are to put their trust in God with their entire life, everything they think, say and do. Trusting in God will go against the ways of the world and bring on the anger of the world. It may look dangerous, but in the end, it brings eternal life. Fearing people will only bring about the trap of death.
The world will pressure you to follow their ways. Although maybe not physically, the world will threaten harm socially and in other ways if you do not conform to their ways. Do not allow yourself to get trapped in the snare of sin and death by fearing what others may think, say or do.
Put all of your trust in the Lord. Physical harm may come in this life, but in the end, you will have eternal life and victory that the world will never know or understand.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will strengthen you to not fear other people; that you will put all of your trust in God; that you will see God’s protection in your life; and that God will keep you from being trapped by the sinful ways of this world.
