Proverbs 8:33 Don’t Hate Instruction

Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain it. Proverbs 8:33

Instructions are something that many people attempt to ignore. A person gets a new item that needs to be assembled, and many ignore the instructions thinking one knows how to do it without any direction. Some believe that they know an easier way to get something done, rather than going through the tedious steps of instructions. People commonly want to do things their own way and do not want to be told what to do or how to do by anyone.

Solomon says to hear instruction and be wise and not to hate or despise it.

Regardless of where a person lives or what one does there are always some instructions that must be followed. There are instructions on how to drive safely down the road, to put together a new toy, how to complete a job and nearly everything else.

Often people wonder if there are instructions on how to live life. Struggles rise up and people question how to deal with those struggles.

God has given a list of instructions to follow on how to live the best life on this planet. It covers every area of life from the personal life to the family life, in the workplace, community, nation and world. It deals with trouble and with victory.

All of this can be found in God’s word–the Bible, yet many despise and hate the instructions, wanting to do things their own way. It is God who created this planet and every individual on it. Since He created everything, He is the One who knows best how to live. His instructions are perfect and everlasting.

Those who love life, will embrace God’s instructions and live a full and abundant life filled with purpose and meaning.

If you are like most people, you have probably ignored instructions given to you at times thinking you know how to do something or a better way to do it. While it may be true you know a better way than the instructions of someone else, you do not know a better way than God.

Seek the instructions God has given and is giving you and accept them. Do not turn away from His instructions or hate them, they are for your benefit and will help you live a full and abundant life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the instructions that God gives you; that you will embrace and obey God’s instructions; and that you will not be foolish and despise God’s instructions.
