Psalm 145:17 God Always Does What Is Right

The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works. Psalm 145:17

Doing what is right is the desire of most people. However, many people struggle with understanding what the right thing to do actually is. With this struggle comes the difficulty of understanding what God is doing in one’s personal life. It is very common for people to get angry with God and say that He is doing something bad in their lives because something negative occurred. Many feel that God does not always do what is right or best.

David says that God is righteous in all of His ways and gracious in all of His works.

The world, as a whole, does not have a set standard of what is right and what is wrong. These concepts change on a regular basis and in every circumstance. As a result of this changing standard, people do not always see what God is doing as gracious and right.

God’s whole purpose for humans is to have fellowship with each other and with Him. This fellowship was destroyed when mankind chose to sin against Him. Ever since that point, God is focused upon bringing every person back into a relationship with Him.

Sin brings a death penalty upon the head of every person who sins, and every person has sinned. Jesus paid the price for those sins, but God still has to work to get everyone to accept what Jesus did and to change their actions to one of righteousness and holiness. This work of God may be painful in times of correction.

Going through difficulties is hard and appears as unrighteous, but it is God’s way of building a person up. He will never make a mistake in what He allows a person to go through in that process. God will always do what is right in the life of the believer.

Throughout your life God will allow difficulties to occur. Do not allow yourself to get angry with God and say that He is doing something evil. Seek to understand how God wants you to grow through a difficult time. Trust that God knows what He is doing and allowing in your life as He works to build you up in the image of Jesus. He has perfect love for you and will never do anything wrong at any time or for any reason.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God always does what is right; that you will trust what God does in your life; and that God will strengthen you to always do what is right.
