Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. Psalm 143:8
Everyday people can listen to news on the radio, television and internet from all over the world. Many will rise in the morning and quickly turn on the news to find out what has happened and what is happening locally and around the world. The majority of the news is not about something good, but about things that have gone bad. It then guides people towards evil ways of actions and thoughts.
David asks God to help him hear of His lovingkindness in the morning and to know the path he should walk in.
From the perspective of the world, it is violence that sells. People will pay to hear or see violence, even though they don’t want to have violence done. It is found in the news, the music, movies and books. Having so much violence bombarding people from every side all the time will cause people to take the wrong path in life.
Believers will often get caught up in this same manner of thinking, hearing and seeing all the violence all the time. Many will begin to conform to the ways of the world and take the path of the world, while still claiming to believe in Jesus.
Instead of listening to the violence of the world, believers need to stop and listen for God’s lovingkindness that He is showing each and every day. One must see God’s lovingkindness in seeing His great mercy for not destroying the one who sins immediately.
Even though most do not see it, God provides abundantly for every person every day. One can put full trust in God, knowing that God will never fail or stop His lovingkindness. God will show one the path to walk in each and every day.
God is pouring out His lovingkindness on you and others each and every day. Allow your ears to be open to hearing what God is doing in your life and in the lives of others. See the positive things God is doing so that you can put your trust in Him and be led in the way to walk. Lift up your whole life to Him to be in service and worship to Him.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear of God’s lovingkindness that He shows; that you will put your trust in God; and that God will show you the path to walk in this life.
