My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:2
No one can do absolutely everything. Every person, at times, will need the help of someone else in order to accomplish certain tasks. Each person has a separate level of abilities in which one can help others. Working together they can accomplish much more than alone. Every business, that is growing, can be seen filled with helpers, each one doing their own specialty to build the business as a team. However, other helpers are not always available or have the skills often needed.
The psalmist states that his help comes from God, who made heaven and earth.
Finding help in a time of need is not always easy. Other people are busy with their own set of challenges in life and are unable to stop and help out.
There are also those people have the time to help and want to help, but don’t know how to help another person out. They are at a loss for words or skills to meet that person’s needs.
While seeking help from other people can be good, it can often fail or fall short, leaving the person disappointed, hurt and failing.
Believers in God will sometimes try to do things on their own or seek help from other people first. They put God on the shelf for help until there is a large catastrophe that is an immediate emergency.
Seeking God’s help should be the first thing a believer does in seeking help. God is always there and never sleeps and is never too busy to help out. God, who made the heaven and earth, has infinite wisdom and power to deal with any and every situation that a believer may ever encounter. He is ready to help out by His Holy Spirit to strengthen and guide the believer.
You will have times in which you need some extra help to make it through some challenge in your life. Before you seek the help of other people, seek the help from God. It is God who will always be there and available and knows how to help you in the best way possible. It is God who can stir hearts of others to help you. He can also step in and do the miraculous in your life.
Ask yourself where do you first seek your help when it is needed?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the help God has available for you; that you will seek God’s help first in your life; and that you will trust God’s help and direction in your life.
