Psalm 113:3 Always Praising God

From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised. Psalm 113:3

All throughout the world there are various people who are honored and praised all the time. They are seen as the best and greatest in some expertise of life. Often it is as if the person can do no wrong and has done the greatest good for others that is possible. People talk about that person day and night, focusing on what is, or appears to be, that was done. The red carpet is rolled out for that person everywhere that person goes.

The psalmist tells the people that the Lord’s name is to be praised from the time the sun rises until it sets at night.

The world is quick to praise a person who has done something that appears to be good and helping for a lot of people. It is good to honor those who have done something good. Yet, while the world is quick to honor and praise these people, the world does not praise or honor God and His name.

People are quick to dishonor the name of God. He is rejected and His name is used in improper ways. Very few recognize who God really is and what He has done for them.

Believers are those who have recognized God’s great love for them and the mercy and grace that He extends to them. They recognize how horrible sin is and the horrible punishment that they deserve because of their sin.

Once one is forgiven of sin and given new and abundant life, one is ready to give God praise day and night. One is willing to praise God by telling others about Jesus. One constantly thanks God and gives Him praise for what He has done and who He is.

There are probably some good things that have occurred in your life and people who have done some great things for you. It is good to give praise and honor to where it is due, but do not forget to give God praise for what He has done for you.

Think about how much He has paid to be able to remove your sins and give you an abundant and eternal life. Now, from the time you get up in the morning until the time you go to sleep at night, allow praise to be on your lips, praising God for what He has done and who He is in your life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what God has done for you; that you will know who God is; that you will praise God’s name day and night; and that you will tell the world about Jesus.
