Psalm 72:18 God Does Wondrous Things

Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who does wondrous things! Psalm 72:18

Once in a while there is a person who does some great things for the people or nation. When a person does something great, people will often give that person praise. Many people will talk about that person and what has been done that is so great and wonderful. Sometimes it will be great enough that buildings, streets, roads, or parks may be named after the person honoring that person for what has been done. These are just a few ways that a person is honored or blessed for doing something great.

Solomon says that God is to be blessed for He has does wondrous things.

It is often easy for a person to speak highly of someone else who has done something great. They want to bless that person and lift that person up.

While people are quick to honor and bless other people for what they have done, many quickly forget what God has done. Suddenly many become quiet about something great. Some do not even recognize all that God is done and are often angry with Him because there was something that they thought should have been done that was not done.

Upon a moment of reflection, one can see all the wonderful things that God has done already and is currently doing. Just beginning with the fact that one is alive is a wonderful work of God. Looking at the beautiful sunrises and sunsets shown by God’s hand each day. His provision of food, clothing and shelter is a great work.

Ultimately God’s forgiveness through the death and resurrection of Jesus is the greatest, most wonderful thing God has ever done for a person. God needs to be blessed and praised for all the wondrous things He has done and is doing.

Take a moment to open your eyes and look at your life and around your life to see what God has done. You should be able to find many wonderful things that God has done in your life or so that you can have life. As you see these things and recognize them, begin to give God praise and bless Him for what He has done in your life. Lift up His name and tell the world what He has done to His glory and praise.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see the great things God has done; that you will bless and praise God for what He has done; and that you will tell others of what God has done.
