Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! Psalm 47:1
Anytime that there is a victory over something, there are shouts of triumph being given. Fans will shout extremely loud when their favorite basketball or football team scores some points, or even more so when they win the game in triumph over the opposing team. Victory always brings about great excitement and joy and the shouts of triumph are great. Those shouts of victory are even greater when the opposing team appeared to be larger and better, but still lost.
The sons of Korah told the people to clap their hands and shout to God with the voice of triumph.
It is very easy for people to follow sports or some other group and get excited when that group brings about some type of victory. However, very few people get to physically be a part of that victory. Most are in the stands or at home watching on the television doing the cheering.
Personal life has many challenges and battles. Often people do not see any great big triumphs and get discouraged. They feel as if there is nothing to shout to God with a voice of triumph about.
Standing back and watching what God is doing in one’s own personal life, one will often see God giving about some great victories.
Every time God gives one the strength to resist a sinful temptation, that is a great triumph to be shouted for. Those times when one is healed of some sickness, great or small, cancer or a common cold, there is a reason to shout with a voice of triumph for He has overcome a sickness.
Believers must jump with joy, clapping their hands and shouting with a voice of triumph every time God does a work in their own lives or in the life of someone else.
God is working directly in your life and all around your life. Open your spiritual eyes up to see what great triumphs God has in each moment of your day. See all those little to great victories He has provided for.
In the same way you may clap your hands and shout for joy when your favorite team wins or something else goes great, clap and shout as God brings about a triumph and a victory each day.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see the many triumphs God does each day; that you will clap your hands and shout with a voice of triumph at God’s great work; and that you will see God’s victory in your life.
