Psalm 35:28 What To Talk About

And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long. Psalm 35:28

Everyday people talk about many different things, about the weather, politics, sports, their weekend, family, dreams, work and much more. The common factor of what people talk about is that everything that they talk about is something that is important or interesting to them. Other people may or may not care to hear about what someone wants to say. Some may even get angry at what is said, both rightfully and wrongfully said things. Either way, people keep talking about what is on their heart and mind. David had been asking God for help with his enemies.

In the end David said that he would talk of God’s righteousness and His praise all day long.

Talking is communication. It is letting others know what is on one’s heart and mind, and what is important in the moment to the individual. While it may be extremely important to one person, to another person it may not mean anything at all.

The importance is often based on what is occurring in the life of the individual. When good things are happening, people want to rejoice and let others know. During troubling times, people want sympathy or help and are willing to tell others.

Believers have something to say that they whole world needs to hear. It is speaking of the righteousness of God and His praise. God does everything so well and so right that He was willing to send His one and only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross, so that sinful mankind, who hated Him, could be saved. Along with doing the greatest thing ever, God also touches lives and meets needs all the time.

God is worthy to be praised and His righteousness talked about all the time.

Take a moment to think about all the good things God has already done for you. Think about how valuable and important many of those things are. Count your blessings that God has blessed you with each moment of every day of your life. It is most likely an extremely long list.

Now be willing to go out and tell others about His righteousness, what God has done for you in both little and great ways. Give God praise for what He has done, both in private and publicly for the world to hear.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the righteousness of God; that you will tell others of God’s righteousness and deeds; that God will give you boldness to speak of Him; and that you will give God praise for who He is and what He has done in your life for the world to hear.
