Job 25:4 How Can One Be Righteous?

How then can man be righteous before God? Or how can he be pure who is born of a woman? Job 25:4

It is common for most people to desire to be better at whatever they do. Many will choose to ask questions or look at how to do something better, faster, easier, or some other way than the way they have been doing it. Some will want to be the best at what they are doing instead of just being mediocre with everyone else. Although in most things people can become better, there are some things that need outside help.

Bildad asks Job the question of how a man can be righteous and pure before God.

When a person is looking at himself in light of someone who is extremely good at something, it is difficult for that person to see how that level can be attained. It can be very discouraging, because there does not appear to be any hope, only failure or shortcoming.

Anyone who compares himself to God will begin to see a vast difference. God is perfect in every way. There is no sin or darkness in Him. Yet, His followers are expected to be righteous before Him, with no sin at all.

On one’s own, living a perfect holy and righteous life before God is completely impossible. Once a person has sinned, there is no hope of being perfectly righteous before God on one’s own work.

This is where the person needs to take on the righteousness that Jesus provided on the cross. His death and resurrection allow Him to take away all sin and make a person fully righteous before God. Living and walking in faith in what Jesus did, provided and commanded will allow a person to be righteous before God.

God has called you to live a righteous and holy life before Him and all the world. Your life is to be a witness of who He is and what He has done for you.

Jesus has provided the way for you to live that life God has called you to live. He has taken away all of your sin and given you a new life. Instead of living in your own way or as the world lives, choose to live as Christ lived and given you the power and ability to live. Walk in the holiness and righteousness Jesus gave you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will take on the righteousness of Jesus; that God will give you strength to turn away from all sin; and that the world will see you live for God in every area of your life.
