Deuteronomy 32:47 Words Of Life

They are not just idle words for you–they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess. Deuteronomy 32:47

Nearly every place a person may go he will hear words being spoken. Voices can be heard talking about nearly everything and anything in all places. Some are loud and some are quiet, but all are saying something.

The majority of what a person hears in public places are just idle words to him. They hold no real importance, nor bring life to him and are often ignored. Only words directed at a person may have real value.

Moses tells the people that all the words that they have just heard are not just idle words but are their life. With those words they will live long in the new land.

Just as there are many idle words being heard on a daily basis, many people see God’s word as just idle words, they are good, but of no real value today. Some believers have heard God’s word so much that they have tuned the word out when hearing it. They have allowed God’s word to become just idle words of no real value.

Every day people hear words of advertisement to purchase something. While many will go out and buy that item, many will ignore it as idle words. In the same way many believers ignore God’s word and not allow His word to be life to them.

The believing and growing believer will hear God’s word and act upon it. He will take it to heart and live his life by it, not allowing it to become idle words of no value. It is God’s word that will change a person’s heart, give him strength, vision, boldness and courage. In other words—Life–Jesus.

You may hear God’s word on a daily basis. You must ask yourself what you do with God’s word when you hear it.

Do not allow yourself to ignore His word or just become indifferent towards it. Apply His word to your life and make it your life. Only through His word can you know true living, peace, contentment and joy.

The words of this world will only bring you about discouragement and death. Turn your ears from the words of this world to the word of God. Know the words that will bring you life–eternal life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as Lord and Savior; that you will know God’s word in your life; that God’s word will be active in your life; that you will act upon God’s word; and that you will trust God’s word in every area of your life.
