The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. Deuteronomy 2:7
Traveling on a journey, especially an unknown one, can be very stressful for many people. There are a lot of things that need to be provided for on the journey.
When traveling on a journey that is of an unknown path is harder since one does not know what he may or may not need. Often stops at a store are needed to resupply.
God reminds the people that during their journey through the wilderness of forty years He provided everything that they needed.
Although most people will not physically travel a route completely blind, every believer is walking through the wilderness of this world on their journey to heaven. Along this journey there will be times of great battles that the enemy will rise up and cause to stop the believer.
As with any journey that a person makes, this journey will cause a person to have some needs. With the basic physical needs of food, water and clothing, there are also many spiritual needs that the believer will need. Strength, wisdom, direction, peace, comfort, joy, boldness and rest are just a few of the things that will be needed to complete this journey.
Just as the Israelites did not know exactly how long their journey would be, the believer does not know how long his journey in this life will be. Some will only be a few years and others will be for many years before God calls them home in death. Yet, on this journey, God will provide abundantly all that is needed. There will never be a lack for anything.
From the moment you chose to believe in Jesus you began a journey in this life that will continue until your death. It is a journey through the dark wilderness of this fallen world.
Trusting in God you will see that God will provide for everything that you need…not necessarily want. He is willing and able to guide your every step on this journey, if you will but just trust Him and obey His commands.
Looking back, you will be able to see how God provides. Don’t give up on the journey but continue forward in Christ Jesus until the day He calls you home.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will trust God’s provision in your life; that you will walk the path God has for you; and that your journey will accomplish God’s direction for your life.
