Genesis 17:1 Walk Faithfully And Blamelessly

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.” Genesis 17:1

Every person on this earth is walking through life in some sort of fashion or other. The world tells people that they can walk however they want, as long as it does not harm anyone else or the earth.

Walking in this way leaves no real standards and only brings out chaos and confusion. The rules on what is good and acceptable change on a regular basis and has a result in frustration and death.

God appears to Abram and tells him who He is and then tells him to walk faithfully and be blameless.

Most people do not like to have a lot of rules and regulations to guide them in how to live or what they can or cannot do. The more rules there are, the more difficult and confusing it is on how to abide by them.

Often people believe that God has hundreds of rules that one must live by in order to be a believer. This is often a result of a church implementing those rules. However, God has a very simple set of rules: walk faithfully and be blameless.

Walking faithfully is walking in way that God knows that one will do what He asks of him without question or hesitation. This is moment by moment walking in God’s will, doing exactly as He asks at that moment.

Being blameless is one refusing to do anything sinful. It is resisting the devil and temptations and fleeing from all sin. Every sin made is done by choice, nothing can force a person to sin.

Living in this way should be the believer’s goal. This is what God calls him to do. You are given choices everyday as to how you will act, speak or think. You can choose to live as the world does, unfaithful to God and full of blame. Or you can choose to walk faithfully before God and being blameless.

Jesus paid the price for your sins so that you could live a blameless life and walk faithfully with God. Do not tread on what Jesus did and waste His death for you.

Choose to walk faithfully in God’s ways, obeying everything He commands of you. Choose to flee sin and be blameless and holy as He is holy.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will walk faithfully in all of God’s commands to you; that God will strengthen you to walk blameless and free from sin; and that you will hear the Holy Spirit’s guidance as to how you should live and walk before God.
