Revelation 7:13 Are Your Robes White?

I answered, “Sir you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Revelation 7:13

Every day people get dressed to cover themselves for the day. They choose clothing of different styles and colors, depending upon their mood and what they are doing.

Throughout each day, the clothing will get dirty with sweat or just normal dirt. On a regular basis most people will take the time to clean their clothing. They do not want stains or smells to permeate their clothing.

As John saw a vision of many people in white robes, he was told that these people were those who washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb to make them white.

No one wants to really be seen as a dirty or filthy person. Many will take showers several times a day and wash clothes daily in order to keep and appear clean. Doing this keeps them clean on the outside, but does nothing for the inside.

Watching the person talks and acts will often reveal what they are like on the inside. It shows what their heart is like. Believers are to be different from the world and look like Jesus–holy and righteous.

Due to choosing to sin, people are dressed in sin–black and dirty. Their lives are filthy and stained with corruption that leads to death.

Many have chosen to wash their clothes–their lives–in the blood of the Lamb, Jesus. It is His blood that removes the stain and dirtiness of sin in their lives. He gives them the ability to live a holy and righteous life before God and man. These are the true believers in Jesus.

Every time you have chosen to sin, you have put a black stain upon the clothing of your life. The only way to have it cleansed and made white is by the blood of Jesus.

The world will strive to keep you dirty with sin, but God has a different plan for you. You are not able to clean your life up on your own. No amount of good will cleanse the stains of sin in your life.

Instead of staying clothed with dirty clothes, repent of your sins and allow Jesus to remove your dirty clothing and cloth you in His white righteousness and holiness. Be set apart, holy unto God for His glory and honor.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will allow the blood of Jesus to cleanse you have all sin; that you will repent before God for your sins; and that you will be clothed with the righteousness and holiness of Jesus.
