Revelation 1:3 How To Be Blessed

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Revelation 1:3

No one wants to be cursed or have a bad time or bad situations occur in his life. Everyone wants things to go well and in their favor.

People are seeking every day ways to enjoy life and have everything go their way in the best way possible. They are seeking the blessings and favor of other people around them or over them.

As John opens his letter, he tells the people that anyone who reads this prophecy, hear it and take it to heart are blessed, because the time of the events occurring is near.

Believers are no different than the rest of the world in desiring to be blessed and things go well for them. Although most want the blessings, very few are willing to do what it takes to be blessed by God with eternal blessings.

Statistically very few believers read the bible on a daily basis. With that in mind, fewer yet take what is written in the bible to heart.

Throughout scripture God has written down what a person is to do to have life, an abundant life in Christ. This abundant life can be found in living in Christ Jesus and obeying God. It is in hearing His word and applying it to one’s own life continually.

As a person applies God’s word to his life, he will be blessed beyond any measure, in ways the world cannot understand or receive. God will fill the person with joy, peace, comfort, strength, power, and His favor. These are ways one will be blessed that the world cannot have nor give.

In your life you have struggles and challenges. You desire that God would bless you and give you His favor. Begin with examining your life.

Are you in His word daily? Are you applying His word to your life daily? Are you trusting God with your life daily?

As you do these things, God will bless you, though you will still have struggles and challenges in your life. There will still be sickness, pain and suffering, but you will have His peace, His joy, His salvation, His forgiveness, His strength, His wisdom, His guidance….His blessings.

You will be blessed by God. Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God’s word; that you will believe God’s word; that you will follow God’s word; and that you will know the blessings you have in Christ Jesus.
