John 15:8 Do You Bring The Father Glory?

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. John 15:8

People get a lot of honor and glory when something that they created works and is successful. The thing created can be an item, a concept, or it can be the development of a person.

Every day leaders around the world are training others under them to be a leader some day. As others are raised up to be leaders, the ones that did the training are honored and glorified for their work.

Jesus tells the disciples that the Father will receive a lot of glory if they bear fruit. It is the bearing fruit that shows that they are His disciples.

As Jesus walked and taught on the earth, He did not do it just to have some good teaching done, but to change lives. He was preparing men and women to become leaders and do the same as He did.

Many are in the church and are saved, just to save themselves. They want to hear good sermons to help them be better, but never work at discipling others. In other words they are not bearing much fruit and they are being selfish, holding salvation only to themselves.

The focus and purpose of every believer should be the same as that of Jesus, to reach the lost and make disciples–to bear much fruit.

Every fruit tree that is successful, bears fruit and reproduces itself. Every believer should be doing the same thing.

As the believer reproduces himself, making more disciples of Jesus, God receives the glory and honor for what is occurring. The job that Jesus had started continues in the believer who is bearing fruit. Until He returns there is work to be done and fruit to be produced.

At some point in your life someone worked on making you a disciple of Jesus. Their fruit showed up in your choosing to follow Jesus.

Now just as someone bore fruit in your life, do the same to others. Take what God has shown and taught you, and teach others. Do what Jesus did and said to do. He set the example for you on how to do it and gave you everything you need to bear fruit.

As you begin to do His work and bear fruit, you will bring the Father glory.

Are you bringing the Father glory today?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will see the work God has done in you; that you will bear the fruit God wants you to bear; that you will bring the Father much glory; and that God’s kingdom will be made larger because of your service to God.
