Acts 1:14 Together In Prayer

They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. Acts 1:14

People of like mind will get together to accomplish something greater than what any one of them can do alone. The world recognizes the need to work as a group to accomplish greater things.

At the same time many know the need to work together, many will also work to do things completely on their own. These individuals want all the credit for what is accomplished.

After Jesus had left them, all the disciples and some others met together for prayer. As a group they were constantly in prayer.

The world knows that isolation can bring control over a person. With isolation one becomes weak and has no support or encouragement. The world wants to isolate and crush believers and their belief in Jesus.

It is common for believers to believe that they can do things on their own. They pray and study the bible alone. While this is good, it cannot be all that one does. Every believer needs to get together with other believers for the purpose of prayer. And this should not be a one time event, but a constant event.

Praying together holds and builds each other up and invites God to be present in the middle. Getting together builds unity of mind, spirit and work. More will be accomplished with a small group of praying believers, than thousands praying alone and separate.

God has a work for believers to do as individuals and as a body. They need to work as a team to pray and seek God’s will, direction and strength to accomplish His work. After the disciples prayed, they turned the world upside down.

As a believer, you need strength for each day. You need God’s direction in your life. And you need support. To get these things you need to be spending constant time in prayer alone and corporately.

Do not allow yourself to be isolated from other believers, thinking you can do the battle on your own. Attack the enemy in prayer with a group.

This prayer can be done as a group physically getting together, or getting together remotely at a set time, connected by internet or phone. Either way is getting together in war against the enemy by constant prayer.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will be in constant prayer with God; that you will pray constantly with other believers; and that you will see God work in your life.
