Psalm 125:1 Never Shaken

Shaken building

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. Psalm 125:1

Life can often take a sudden change in direction. Disasters are rarely seen ahead of time. Sickness rarely reports its coming early. Life changing accidents are never planned for.

When things like these and much more occur, people are thrown into confusion and fear. Their whole world is shaken It becomes a time of uncertainty because they do not understand what is happening, nor understand what to always do next.

Not only is there great fear when things go bad, but there is also a lot of fear of things possibly going to happen. A person hears of the rising crime statistics and then begins to fear that he may become a victim of a crime.

The psalmist states that there is a person who cannot be shaken at all. That person is the one who believes in God.

Believing in God means that one believes that God is in control and will do what He said He would do.

There have been many who have chosen to walk away from God because of a bad situation in their lives. They forget that God is in control and does allow bad things to occur, but for a good purpose.

The person who truly believes in God and what He does and can do, will not be shaken when bad things occur. As something in life is going ‘wrong’ he knows that it is because God allowed it to happen. He also knows that God uses everything for his benefit.

Knowing that God is in control and works for his benefit brings about a peace that the world does not know or understand. The world cannot understand why a believer is not going crazy when life appears to be falling apart. Yet, the world that is falling a part is just a temporary world. What is eternal has not changed and cannot be changed.

When times come that turn your life upside down and appear to be disastrous , put your trust in God. Relax and know that God is in control. Do not allow yourself or your belief in God to be shaken, but built up.

Jesus promised difficult times, but He also promised He would be with you. That brings a peace the world does not understand. Stand firm on that and don’t be shaken like the rest of the world.

I pray today that you will know the salvation Jesus provides; that you will trust God in every situation; that God will remove fear of change or the unknown; and that God will fill you with His peace among disaster.
