Psalm 101:2 Being Careful

Mirroring Water

I will be careful to lead a blameless life–when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart. Psalm 101:2

It is common to hear of people whose lives look great in the public world, but are horrible in the home. Inside the home, behind closed doors there is often abuse, lies, cheating, and more.

This occurs because most people think that no one can see or know about what is happening behind the closed doors.

Those who live like this, will often begin to live in the same way in the public life. If they cheat or lie in the private home, they will do the same in the public world. Often these actions are excused and accepted by many, except by those who are hurt by the actions.

In the psalm, the write states that he will conduct his private affairs with a blameless heart. He will strive to make sure that there is nothing that he can be blamed on.

There are many in the church who are living in the same way as the world. During church, they live and speak as a believer, but in the private of their homes, they live in perpetual sin.

Being private can be in the physical home or in the mind. Thoughts and physical actions occur that are sin. Sadly it is common to hear of abuse, both physically and mentally, inside of Christian homes. Often it is heard of ministers or leaders in the church who have been caught in a private sin, destroying their ministry.

Believers must strive to live a blameless life, no matter where they are. Jesus said that what is said in private will be broadcast in the open. Private sins will be revealed in the end.

In your private life, both in the home and your mind, what are you living? If someone where to take a look at it and judge it, would there be purposeful sin?

Many believers talk about the grace of God and that they are free to live life. This is true, but not to sin. You must flee all sin and strive to live a blameless life. Jesus did not forgive you so that you can go and sin again.

Allow God to take control of your home and your mind. Change the way you act and think to mirror that of Jesus. Strive to live a blameless life because of what Jesus did for you.

I pray today that you will know the forgiveness Jesus provides; that God will reveal to you things you must change; that God’s Holy Spirit will guide you in living a blameless life; and that your thoughts and actions will be ones of God.
