Isaiah 44:8 There Is No Other God

“Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.” Isaiah 44:8

During the time Isaiah had prophesied, the nation of Israel had to go through a lot of trouble. They were captured and placed in exile for a time. Going through this, there were people who were afraid and maybe began to wonder if God was really the only god there was.

God tells them not to be afraid, because He had proclaimed all that would happen long before it occurred. He calls them His witnesses, because they had heard what He proclaimed would happen and they saw it actually happen. They could know that He, alone, is God and that there is no other God out there.

The person who can accurately predict something in the future every time, all the time, is the master and is in complete control. He would know things that no one else could possibly know. In life, there is no one that is that good on this earth. Some can predict some things accurately, some of the time, but no one can do that one hundred percent of the time. The more times someone does a prediction, the higher the chance of making a mistake.

Only God can predict the future perfectly every time, all the time. Since He can do this, He is the Master, and in complete control.

Read the Bible and see the predictions that Jesus had made. Some of those predictions were great–returning to the earth, building a new heaven and earth. Others did not sound so great–being persecuted, ridiculed, and sin being rampant on the earth.

As you look at the predictions or promises of God, you will see that most have been fulfilled. This means that God is in complete control. You do not need to be afraid. Be His bold witness in telling the world that He is the One who is in control and that Jesus will return someday. Do not allow the bad situations in this life to discourage you, God knows what is happening, He already proclaimed it.

Keep your focus on God and His promises. He is the Rock that will crush all false gods in the end.

I pray today that you will know the promises of God; that you will see that God is in control; that God will be your Rock; and that you will have no fear in this world.
