Proverbs 5:21 Everything In View

For your ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all your paths. Proverbs 5:21

Solomon starts out this chapter telling his son that he must stay as far away from an adulterous woman as possible. Walking down that path would lead to death. In this verse, Solomon reminds him that everything that he does is in God’s sight.

Doing things behind closed doors in secrecy is a common thing to happen. Although some things are acceptable to be done in secret, there are many more things done in secret that are not acceptable to God.

Very few crimes occur during the day. Most criminals try to do their crime during the night, when it is dark and other people cannot see what is happening. They do this so that people cannot see them doing something wrong.

One of the things many people do is look on others for sexual pleasure. In Solomon’s day, the only way to do that was to physically be with the other person. Today, all one has to do is turn on the internet. Behind closed doors or hidden behind the screen of a small phone, people can view the adulterous woman/man in a way no other person knows that it is happening.

In addition to viewing, thoughts can run anywhere anytime. People think that because no one knows it is happening, it is acceptable.

Yet, God is watching. Everything that you do is in full, open view of God. There is nothing hidden that He cannot see or know about. Whether it is viewing or acting with another person in a sexual sin, or some other type of sin, God sees it. There is not a single sin that God does not see.

As God is examining your ways, you must also examine your ways.

What are you doing?

What are you thinking?

What are you viewing?

The world is full of ways to do sin. As a believer, you must turn away and flee all sin and temptation. Do not allow yourself to be lured into the trap of sin and be destroyed. Do not allow yourself to be led astray.

God loves you and wants you to live a full life with Him, not with this world and its sin. Jesus died to remove that sin, don’t go back to it.

I pray today that God will open your eyes to sin in your life; that God will strengthen you to flee all sin; that God will break all sexual sinful habits in your life; and that your love for God will grow more and more.
