Your statutes, LORD, stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days. Psalm 93:5
Any nation that has been around for at least a hundred years or more has at least one thing that has occurred–the change of rules. Every nation changes some, or many of its rules over time. The thought patterns of people have changed over time, causing a change in the rules.
Looking at America, there are some rules that have been eliminated over time and new ones put into place. For a short time in history, alcohol was banned, only to be restored later. For many years women were not allowed to vote. For a number of years slavery was allowed, then it was ruled as illegal. Certain drugs that were illegal are now made legal.
In more modern times, new rules have come up to deal with current technology. Rules dealing with usage of information over the internet, copyright laws, and use of cell phones are among the many newer rules. Along with many morality laws have been changed recently.
With all of the changes in the laws, a person may wonder what will be legal or illegal next. People may stand confused as to what is right or what is wrong. All of these rules are put in place by man.
God had placed rules in place several thousand years ago. These rules (statutes) have never changed, nor will they ever change. All of His rules come down to two main rules: Love God and love others.God’s rules keeps holiness in His house and will continue to do so forever.
Whatever you do each day must stem from one of these two rules. Following these two rules will keep holiness in your life.
You will never have to worry about God suddenly changing His mind and changing His rules. He knows the end from the beginning. His wisdom is perfect. He made the rules with the end in mind.
Many people fear or hate God’s rules, but His rules bring about life in the life of a believer of Jesus. They will not bring about fear or death.
What do you feel about God’s rules?
Are you striving to live your best for God? He has given His best for you.
I pray today that you will know God’s rules in your heart; that you will strive to live for God; that you will not fear God’s rules; and that you will love God and others with all of your heart.
