Psalm 52:3 Loving Evil Over Good

You love evil rather than good, falsehood rather than speaking the truth. Psalm 52:3

It is very easy to find things that are evil in this world that is fallen into the trap of sin. Man has fallen away from God and chosen to follow Satan and the evil he promotes. Satan states that he will bring a person joy and happiness, all that one will ever need. Yet, all of his words are a deception and bring death.

Take a look at the number one movies, or number one books that are made. Very rarely, if ever, are they a movie that promotes God and what God promotes. The world loves to view things that are filled with horror, death, sex, and “freedom” to do what a person wants, when he wants, the way he wants.

Along with what people watch, many fall into the trap of evil in the music that is listened too. The world loves to sing about death, divorce, killing, raping, sex, and other crimes as though it is good. Love of evil is prevalent in this world.

The sad part is that many Christians fall into this same deception. People of all levels in the church, from the simple attendee, to the pastor, have often fallen into the deception of this world.

People in the church talk about movies and music as though they were great. These are movies that are filled with extreme violence, without God anywhere in the picture. They enjoy movies and music that promote the things of this world.

Often, they will try to explain the movie or music in a way that excuses the falsehood or evil being promoted. The quality of acting is pointed out as great and worth seeing, even though it promotes a sinful lifestyle. Many fall into the same trap of calling evil good, rather than what it really is. They are no different from those in the world.

As you go through your days, what are you desiring to see or hear?

Are you keeping  your eyes and ears focused on God?

Or are you watching and listening to what the world has to say?

Be careful to not love what the world loves. See this world through the eyes of God and love what He loves–people, not things.

I pray today that you will have a heart after God’s heart; that you will love what God loves; that God will strengthen you to turn your eyes and ears away from evil; and that you will be a witness of Jesus in this world.
