1 Corinthians 4:2 Proven Faithful

“Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”

Paul just finished stating that he and others like him have been entrusted with the mysteries of God. These mysteries are that God provided salvation for every person both Jew and Gentile through His Son Jesus Christ. With having said that they were entrusted with these mysteries, he points out that they must now prove themselves faithful with them.

Most every person is entrusted with something. Every worker that is hired is entrusted with the materials on the job. They are expected to use the materials for work and not steal or damage them. This happens in an office and in the field while working.

When a person is entrusted with a license to drive a car, he is trusted to follow the rules and drive safely. When a doctor entrusts parents with their new-born baby, they are expected to take care of the new child correctly.

If you have chosen to believe in and follow Jesus, you have been entrusted with the mysteries of God. God now has some expectations of you. He wants you to prove faithful with what He has given you.

How can you prove yourself faithful with what God has entrusted you with?

First, you must live by what you know. God has given many guideline on how to live your life, what to do or not to do. Are you living your life-like Jesus? Is your life being transformed and changed into the image of Jesus? Or are you just wasting the gift you have been given?

Second, you must spread the information you know to others. Jesus sent everyone out to preach the gospel message to everyone. No matter where you go there is always someone who does not know the gospel message or does not follow Jesus. Are you telling them about Jesus? Are you telling people about God’s love for them? Or are you just holding it to yourself?

Changing your life and telling others are ways to prove yourself faithful with what God has given you. Are you faithful today?

I pray today that you will know what God has given you; that you will allow your life to be conformed to the image of Jesus; that you will tell others about Jesus; and that you will be proven faithful to God.
