“But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.” Hebrews 3:6
Being faithful means one can be counted on to do the right thing every time, all the time, and is very loyal. Jesus is called a faithful Son over God’s house. This means He is in charge of God’s house. Jesus will ensure that God’s house is well maintained, repairs made when necessary, everything kept clean and in order, proper maintenance is done and everything is secure.
The writer than tells whoever holds to the confidence and hope that was given is God’s house. This confidence and hope is the fact that Jesus did die for our sins; that Jesus did raise from the dead; that Jesus will forgive us of our sins; and that Jesus will save us from all sin. Are you holding on to that confidence and hope? If you are, then you can rest assured that Jesus will take care of you. You are God’s house and Jesus does not want God’s house wrecked, damaged, or lost in any way. You need to hold on to this truth.
I pray today that the Holy Spirit will reveal to you the truth of your being the house of God; that God will build your confidence in Jesus and Himself; and that you will live according to a house of God.
