Luke 8:39 Talk About What God Has Done

“Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. Luke 8:39

It is common for many people to desire to be in the limelight of things occurring. They want to be where the big action is, where everyone else appears to be or wants to be.

In seeking only these positions, many will miss many other great opportunities. Not everyone can be in the limelight or just at the big events. Not everyone can travel with the best or top person.

After being healed from demonic possession, a man wanted to travel with Jesus. Jesus denied the request, but told him to go home and tell everyone what God had done. The man did as Jesus said.

Just as people in the world want to be in the highlighted positions, many in the church want those same positions. They want to work right alongside the pastor or speaker, being seen by everyone as important.

While the pastor or speaker does need a few people alongside of him to help, he does not need that many. What is really needed is people to go into their own neighborhoods and places they normally go to be a witness for Jesus.

Individual believers can touch other individuals better than a large name speaker. People want to hear direct testimony of what God has done and is doing from people that they personally know. It adds a greater level of proof and reliability to the story that is often lost in a big name person.

Every believer has an experience with God to tell others about. If every believer was to go out and tell every person that he knows, the whole world will hear about Jesus in a personal way.

You have your own stories of experiences of what God has done and is doing in your life. Instead of just running after positions in the church or community, be willing to share those stories with those you meet each day.

There is someone out there that needs to hear what you have to say. There is someone out there who will give their heart to Jesus because of a story that you may tell.

Don’t hold back and just sit in the pews at church, but go out and share your story with everyone you can today.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will seek ways to talk about Jesus to others; that God will open your eyes to those who need Jesus; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.

Deuteronomy 4:9 Don’t Forget

Forget me not flower

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teacher them to your children and to their children after them. Deuteronomy 4:9

Remembering things is something that is needed to be done. It helps remind a person where he has come from and things he should or should not do. Looking back on one’s life will help one see the choices that were made, some that were disastrous and others that were successful.

Over time, there has been groups of people who strive to deny things that occurred in the past. They try to deny or ignore things that were negative in their lives. There are people who try to deny the holocaust or the slavery done in America. They try to rewrite the history books to deny these things.

Since Jesus walked on the earth, there are many who try to deny Jesus. Since the beginning of mankind, there are people who work hard to deny the existence of God.

God told the Israelites to be careful to remember everything that they had seen. Not only were they to remember them, but they were to pass the stories on to their children and grandchildren.

Every believer will have stories to tell of God’s provision or hand in their lives. Many will begin to forget about what God had done, when things get tough in life. Those who do remember, will find strength and hope in God, because they remember how God has already met a need in the past.

Forgetting the things God has done opens the door to doubt and fear. Many believers fear things happening, because they forget what God has already done and can do.

Take time to think about all the things God has done for you in your life. Take time to share that information with family and friends. Do not allow yourself to forget how God has worked in your life.

When the time comes that you are going to go through a tough time, and it will come, stop and take the time to remember how God has helped in the past. This will give you hope for your future. It will remove the fear of the situation, because you will see God is still at work in your life.

Don’t forget what God has done!

I pray today that you will remember the work of God in your life; that you will share what God has already done for you; that God will remove fear of difficult times; and that many will come to God through your testimony of His work in your life.

Mark 5:19 Tell Your Story

Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” Mark 5:19

Jesus and the disciples had got off the boat and a man came up to him that was demon-possessed. No one had been able to control the man because of the possession. Jesus cast the demons out of the man, so the man wanted to leave with Jesus. Jesus told him to just go back home and tell everyone what had happened to him.

One thing that people like to do is talk about themselves. They like to tell their story as to what has happened in their lives. Many times the stories that they like to tell are about things that were negative or the hard times in their lives. Only if it is really great do they begin to tell about the good times.

An area that a lot of people do not like to talk about is what God has done in their lives. Often in today’s society, people are afraid of offending someone with what they believe. Or they are afraid that if they talk about what God has done in their lives, people will think that they are crazy.

If people can talk about the bad things that are happening in their life, or about the latest football game, they can talk about the good things in their life. If they can talk about their favorite team winning a game, they should be able to talk about God working in their life.

What better news is there than to talk about what God is doing? This is especially true when God does a miracle in one’s life.

God has had mercy on your life. Jesus died on the cross for you to be able to remove all of your sins. There is no greater mercy than that!

Not only has He forgiven you and given you life, there are many other things that He has done for you.

Have you been healed of a sickness?

Have you ever had a great day?

Do you have a job?

These are things that God has provided for you.

You must be willing to go out and tell your story of what God has done in your life. People need to hear what God is doing.

I pray today that you will know what God has done for you; that you will share with others what God is doing; that you will not be afraid to talk about Jesus; and that others will know Jesus because of your story.
