Revelation 3:21 The Reward Of Being Victorious

Award

To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Revelation 3:21

Getting a reward is something many people want. They look forward to being victorious and getting the reward that is being offered. Football players look forward to getting the Superbowl ring for a reward of their hard work at playing the game. Workers strive for the employee of the year for their hard work. There are thousands of different rewards out there of every type that people desire.

With any of the rewards it does take work and dedication. A person has to be focused on what he is doing in order to earn the reward. He has to be victorious in the work being done.

Just believing in Jesus and repenting of sins brings a reward of eternal life for every believer. It is something that they may look forward to getting.

Jesus also points out that there is a reward for being victorious. This reward is the same that He had received, to be able to sit on a throne. When Jesus rose from the dead, victorious, He was allowed to sit on the Father’s throne. Now, when a believer is victorious in following Him, he will be allowed to sit on the throne of Jesus.

Victorious means that  a person will continually turn from sin, obey God’s commands, do the work God has sent for him to do, be a witness for Jesus and build His kingdom on this earth.

To do any of these things, a person must be focused on God. He must make his life dedicated to serving God with all of his abilities. This has nothing to do with salvation, but with serving God.

Just as with any victory, being victorious in your own life will take some work. It takes focus to turning away from all sin and seeking ways to serve God in every moment of your life.

Jesus is waiting to hand out the reward of sitting on His throne to every one who is victorious. It is not just for one or two people. It is for you and everyone else who is victorious in following Him.

Ask yourself if you are being victorious in your walk with God. Are you doing all you can to get that reward?

I pray today that you will know what God has in store for you; that God will strengthen you to turn from all sin; that you will be His witness in this world; and that you will receive the reward God has for you.

Romans 8:37 More Than A Conqueror

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37

As people go through life, most do not see themselves as a conqueror, much less more than a conqueror. Many do not even see themselves as really victorious. Often people look at themselves as just surviving, plugging through life with only a few small victories.

Paul states that you are more than a conqueror in these things. What are these “things” that he is talking about. Look back a few verses and you see that it is trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, and the sword. Basically it is everything that is bad that happens in life.

In life you will go through many different difficult situations from having a difficult day, all the way to being killed. It does not matter who you are, there will be those problems. Many people think that if they just have enough money, or that right job, all the problems will disappear. Others believe that if they just follow Jesus correctly the problems will go away.

Yet, no matter what you do there are more problems. As one problem leaves, another takes its place. While these problems are challenging, you can know that in Christ Jesus you are more than a conqueror through them.

What does it mean to be “more than a conqueror”? Most people either lose the battle or they just survive. Being more than a conqueror means that you go through the situation with the joy and strength of Jesus. You go through with the knowledge that He is in control and that you will win in the end. You do not grumble, complain, or go into despair.

The main difference is that your mind is set upon Jesus and His future for you, not the here and now. You know that Jesus loves you and is with you. You know that you are saved. Nothing can stop you when you are with Jesus and following Him.

As you go through a difficult time, where are you focused? Are you looking at the situation and complaining? Or are you looking towards Jesus and what He has done for you and will do for you?

If you are in Jesus, you are more than a conqueror. Don’t give up. Hold your head up high, you are a child of God, co-heir with Jesus.

I pray today that you will know the love Jesus has for you; that you will know that Jesus is in control; that you will not be broken down by the troubles of this world; that you will know that you are more than a conqueror in Jesus; and that God will help you to be victorious.

Revelation 21:6-7 Reward For the Victorious

“He said to me: It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.” Revelation 21:6-7

God had just finished destroying the earth. He created a new heaven and a new earth. Now God says that it is done.

Here God calls Himself the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End. Alpha and Omega are the beginning and ending letters of the Hebrew alphabet. God was at the beginning when the earth was created and will be there at the end when all things are new. Know that God has everything in control from beginning to end.

Then God says that anyone who is thirsty and comes to Him for a drink will receive it without cost. You are to drink the water of life. Remember that Jesus said He is life. You are to drink of Him and of the Holy Spirit. Your spirit should thirst after the things of God.

He then states that anyone who is victorious will inherit all of this. Only a person who is following Jesus and believing in Jesus with all of their heart, soul, and mind will be victorious.

God desires for you to be His child and for Him to be your God. This was declared before you were born. God had this in mind when He first created the earth and placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Put your faith in the work and salvation of Jesus. Do not try to earn your salvation. Live up to what Jesus has saved you for. You are saved to do good works. Be a child of God today. Allow God to truly be God in and over your life.

Since God has been around since the beginning and He knows the end, He knows what is best for you. He knows how to guide you perfectly in every area of your life. Do not allow yourself to end up not being victorious at the end of time on this earth. Be victorious today in your walk with God.

I pray today that God will fill you with His life; that God will strengthen you to be victorious; that God will guide your every step; that God will fill you with His Holy Spirit; that you will be God’s child; and that you will make God your God.
