Acts 26:20 What Everyone Needs To Hear

First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. Acts 26:20

At different times there are important messages that need to be broadcast or given out to a group of people. Some of these messages are of extreme importance, while others are not as important.

One common broadcast, that is not of high importance, is telling of a major sale going on. Messages of high importance would be warnings given out when there is a hurricane coming in and major disaster is expected.

As Paul was being tried in court, he tells the court that he did was God called him to do. He had brought a message of repentance and demonstration of that repentance by deeds to all the world, both Jew and Gentile.

Every day people are talking about many different things. Most of those things being talked about deal with their immediate life, but not at a high level of extreme importance. People talk about the weather, work, economy, politics, family, sports and more.

While these things can be interesting and somewhat important, they are often not of extreme high level of importance. Rarely are they dealing with life and death.

The greatest message that every person on this earth needs to hear is one that deals with their life for eternity. It is the message that every believer has heard and believed. That message is that every person needs to repent of sins and turn to God and then show that they have repented by their actions–live for God.

Every believer has a mandate from God to get this message out to every person, regardless of their ethnicity or background.

If you are a believer in Jesus, someone had taken time to bring you the greatest message of all time. They took time to tell you about Jesus, the need to repent and the need to live for God.

Now it is your turn to pass that great message on to someone else. Strive to get the message out to everyone and anyone you can. There is no one too great, too small, too good or too bad that does not need to hear it.

All need to be given a chance to repent and turn to God, gaining eternal life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that your life will demonstrate by action the repentance you have done; that you will pass the message of Jesus to all you meet; and that many will come to Jesus and repent of their sins through your message.

Acts 20:21 What Must Be Done

I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus. Acts 20:21

There are times when people are told some things that they must do in order to be safe or to avoid something.

Driving down a road, one might be told to turn off the road to another road in order to avoid a washed out bridge. People are told to evacuate their homes when there is a large forest fire or hurricane heading their way.

While some will heed these warnings, others will ignore them at their peril.

Paul told the people that he would go house to house telling both the Jews and the Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and believe in Jesus.

While the warnings to evacuate or avoid a certain road protect a person, they are only temporary protections. Those types of warnings only help in the here and now, at the moment, not for life-long or even eternity. These warnings are also only for a set group of people and do not involve every person around the world.

One of the dangers that is coming, that will involve every person around the world, regardless of who or where there are, is the coming of Jesus with the judgment of sin by God. This is a danger that will destroy all life, unless warnings are heeded.

Every believer has been given the command to declare the evacuation method to avoid the coming destruction. They are to tell every person, regardless of their ethnicity, that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith or believe in Jesus Christ.

Not doing these things will guarantee disaster and death for eternity. Every one needs an opportunity to believe in Jesus.

You, just as the rest of the world, need to make sure you have turned to God in repentance, turning away from all sin. Then you must also have faith in the salvation that Jesus is providing.

Once you have done this, you now have a mandate to declare that same message to everyone else you can talk to. Salvation and eternal life cannot and will not be found in any other person, god or religion. There is only one way to the Father, to heaven–Jesus Christ.

What are you declaring to the people you meet?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will repent before God of all your sins; that you tell others about Jesus; that you will emphasize the need to believe in Jesus; and that God will save many through your word and testimony.

Acts 3:19 Refreshing Times Can Come

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, Acts 3:19

In the fast paced busyness of society in today’s times, many people are desiring to be refreshed. They want to be able to relax and have a good time and enjoy life.

The world often looks to drugs, things or doing something to give them the refreshing they desire. All of these things are temporary and will often fail in providing what is desired. People end up more tired afterwards, than before.

After a man was healed, Peter tells the people to repent and turn to God. This is so that they may have times of refreshing from God.

Once a person is done working a long, hard day, he will often take a shower, put on clean clothes and some deodorant to freshen up. He wants himself to be made presentable to others again.

While this works great on getting the outside freshened up a bit, it does not always freshen up the inside spirit of the person. Inside the heart and mind, a person is often under much turmoil and stress. It can still feel dirty.

The first step to feeling refreshed on the inside is to repent of any sins. This is to be truly sorry for what was done wrong against God or any person. It is to turn away from doing any sin at all.

Then a person must turn to God for the inner cleansing of the heart and mind. Only Jesus can cleanse a person from sin, since He paid the price for sin–death.

Once these two steps are done, God can come into a person and bring a spiritual refreshing to the mind and soul, despite the difficulties and troubles of life.

You may be tired and worn out from your day-to-day challenges of life and work. You want to be refreshed, but are not sure how to get it. Nothing that you try hits it correctly.

Start with repentance of sins and turning to God. Allow God to give you the life that you need to be refreshed and strengthened from day to day.

Sin will weigh you down and destroy you. Repentance allows God to remove the sin and build you up with a refreshing, abundant eternal life.

Are you willing to give Him a chance?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will repent of any sins you have done against God; that you will allow Jesus to cleanse you of all sins; and that you will allow God to refresh your mind and soul.
