Luke 8:39 Talk About What God Has Done

“Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. Luke 8:39

It is common for many people to desire to be in the limelight of things occurring. They want to be where the big action is, where everyone else appears to be or wants to be.

In seeking only these positions, many will miss many other great opportunities. Not everyone can be in the limelight or just at the big events. Not everyone can travel with the best or top person.

After being healed from demonic possession, a man wanted to travel with Jesus. Jesus denied the request, but told him to go home and tell everyone what God had done. The man did as Jesus said.

Just as people in the world want to be in the highlighted positions, many in the church want those same positions. They want to work right alongside the pastor or speaker, being seen by everyone as important.

While the pastor or speaker does need a few people alongside of him to help, he does not need that many. What is really needed is people to go into their own neighborhoods and places they normally go to be a witness for Jesus.

Individual believers can touch other individuals better than a large name speaker. People want to hear direct testimony of what God has done and is doing from people that they personally know. It adds a greater level of proof and reliability to the story that is often lost in a big name person.

Every believer has an experience with God to tell others about. If every believer was to go out and tell every person that he knows, the whole world will hear about Jesus in a personal way.

You have your own stories of experiences of what God has done and is doing in your life. Instead of just running after positions in the church or community, be willing to share those stories with those you meet each day.

There is someone out there that needs to hear what you have to say. There is someone out there who will give their heart to Jesus because of a story that you may tell.

Don’t hold back and just sit in the pews at church, but go out and share your story with everyone you can today.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will seek ways to talk about Jesus to others; that God will open your eyes to those who need Jesus; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.

Hosea 6:3 Acknowledging God

Rain on some plants

Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6:3

Every where a famous person goes, there will be people who are quick to acknowledge him. He is well known and people are fast to point him out to others. Many will get excited that they were even in the same area as he was.

On the other side of the picture, those who are famous rarely will take the time to acknowledge some ‘small’ person. The little person is unrecognized and often unknown by the famous person.

Hosea tells the people to acknowledge God. Not only to acknowledge Him, but to push to do so. The purpose of it is that God will then appear to them as faithful as the spring rains.

Each Sunday that comes, there are millions of believers who are willing to go to church and acknowledge God. However, during the week they will often put Him on the shelf and ignore Him. They will rarely take the time to talk with Him about anything, unless it is an emergency.

It gets even worse in the workplace. Opportunities will arise for the believer to acknowledge God and be His witness, yet, many keep quiet and keep God to themselves, refusing to acknowledge Him. The refusal to acknowledge God is often due to either fear of rejection or sin in one’s life.

As a believer gets to really know God and His great love, mercy and grace, he will want to acknowledge God. He will be excited to talk about God. As he talks about God, God will show up in the midst of the situation. He desires to reveal Himself to every person who is willing to acknowledge Him.

At some point in your life you have acknowledged God, if you are a believer. Over time have you allowed your familiarity of God to lessen and begin to ignore God?

Take a moment to acknowledge God again. Start with taking time to talk with Him today. Recognize that He is there and He is there for you.

Then take the time to acknowledge God before others. Let the world know who God is. Be His witness.

When you do these things, God will be quick to show up. He wants to reveal Himself to you and to this world and will acknowledge you.

I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will acknowledge God in your life; that you will be a witness of who God is to others; and that God will reveal more of Himself to you.

Daniel 4:2 Excited To Talk

Excited boy

It is my pleasure to tell you about the miraculous signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me. Daniel 4:2

When something great happens in the life of a person, he is excited to talk about it. He will begin to tell everyone and anyone about what has happened. He does not care what others think about it.

People are very quick to talk about getting a new car, a new job position, a new house, a new child or grandchild, and the list goes on as to what they want to talk about. They will also talk about the latest events in the news or the latest sports game.

The passion and excitement about what is talked about can run high. Some will agree, while others may disagree with what is said.

King Nebuchadnezzar was excited to talk about what God had been doing in his life.

Every believer has a story to tell about what God has done in his life. Many believers act as if there is nothing exciting that has ever occurred in their lives. They do not see any miraculous workings of God in their lives. Yet, they do have miracles in their life.

Just being forgiven and saved is a miraculous story itself. However, there is also the miraculous work of provision of food, clothing, housing, and more in each person’s life. The daily life of being able to breathe and live is a miracle in itself. God’s amazing provision for places of worship and other believers to worship with is something to be talked about.

Along with all of these, there are the miracles of overcoming sin and temptations that occur on a regular basis. Many also experience miracles of healings and recovery.

When the believer thinks about it, he has many things that God has done in his life to talk about.

Take a moment to take note of all the things great and small that God has done in your life. The blessings are as numerous as the sands on a beach.

Now go out and tell others about those things. Be bold to stand up and talk about God and what He is doing in your life. Be willing to boldly talk about what God has already done in your life.

The world needs to hear your story about God. Do not be afraid of the world, but let them know.

I pray today that you will see the work God has done in and through you; that you will see all the miracles God is performing around you; that you will talk about what God has done and is doing; and that many will come to know Jesus because of your testimony about God.

Psalm 34:3 Glorify The Lord

Morning glory flower

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. Psalm 34:3

Lifting someone or something up and glorifying it is a very common thing to occur among people. What people glorify is uncountable. Some will glorify a job, a singer, an actor, a sports team, and the list in endless. People will glorify whatever it is that they are excited about, whether it is for the positive or the negative.

In the process of lifting up, they will often make the person or thing out to be the best in whatever field the person or thing is. This can also be see abstractly in that some will say some thing glorifies an action, attitude or thought.

Some will say that football may glorify violence. Movies will glorify crime and killing. Again the list is endless as to what is glorified and how it is glorified.

David called for the people to glorify the Lord with him. He wanted to praise God with others and not just himself, alone.

Glorifying God is talking extremely highly of Him to everyone and anyone anywhere a person is. It is constantly talking about God around other people.

When a person thinks about it, there is not too much that can be said about God. The list of His qualities and qualifications are infinite, going on forever. The list of good things that God has done is endless. And this list is for each and every believer.

As one is glorifying God, he is also being a witness to others as to who God is. It is the process of letting the world get a glimpse of who God is. This also takes the focus off of problems and this world and focuses on the eternal. It will bring joy to the heart.

Take time each day to think about the qualities and characteristics of God and what He has done for you and for others. Think of all the blessings God has blessed you with. Give God praise for those things.

Be willing to glorify the Lord by telling Him what you think of what He has done and who He is. Then go out and tell the world what God has done and who He is. This is glorifying God.

Do not let the temporary things of this world get your focus and bring you down. Focus on God and His perfect qualities and actions. Who or what will you glorify today?

I pray today that you will have a personal relationship with God; that you will know God’s character; that you will know the blessings you have in Jesus; and that you will glorify God wherever you are.

Psalm 22:22 Who Do You Talk About?

Can talking

I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly I will praise you. Psalm 22:22

In this world there are lots of things that a person can talk about from day to day. One of the many things that people like to talk about is other people. The people they talk about can be people they really know or just people that they know about, but they like to talk about others.

Among the teenagers the talk is often about actors, actresses, and singers, alongside of talking about other teens around them. Among the adults, the talk is often about politicians and other people around them.

The talk is often about how they like or do not like the person and why. If they don’t like them, it can often lead to an argument as to who is right or wrong.

David had been going through a tough time. Many were questioning his God. Yet, David says that he will declare, or talk about, God to the people. He will not stop praising Him among the people. He wanted to lift God up.

Believers have a message to talk about. They have someone that they can declare to this world. The world does not know God or Jesus. They do not know what they can do or what has been already done for them. Every believer can take every opportunity to let the world know the truth, without fear or shame.

Some people will refuse to listen and believe, but there will be others who will listen and believe. Each one needs to be given the chance to hear and believe. However, each believer needs to do his part in giving that message. This is lifting Jesus up for the world to see.

Going throughout your day, you will have opportunities to talk to other people. The question is what will you talk about? It is easy to just talk about the day to day things and the news, but time must be taken to declare the name of Jesus. Bring Jesus into the picture in every conversation you have.

Allow God’s name to be praised and lifted up before this fallen world. Give others a chance to know who Jesus is and what He has done for you and for them.

You have opportunities to shine your light in this dark world with praise. Don’t let that opportunity go to waste.

I pray today that you will know what God has done for you; that God will fill you with His boldness to declare the name of Jesus to this world; that many will hear of Jesus and turn to Him; and that you words will lift up Jesus.
