Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” Mark 3:11
It was common for Jesus to go around healing people. As He would do this, many people would come around Him and crowd Him. They wanted to see what was happening or to be healed. The impure spirits would fall before Him and cry out who He really was.
Jesus was an unusual mystery to most of the people. They had never seen someone going around and healing like Jesus did. Not only did He do continual healing, but He also had power over the demons.
While many people accepted what Jesus was saying and doing, there were some who would go around condemning Him. All they could see was a regular man who grew up as a carpenter. He looked just like any other person around at the time.
Yet, Jesus was not just another regular man. He was God’s Son. Jesus had the power and authority that God had and He was using it on this earth. He spoke with God’s authority whenever He spoke. While many people saw this, there were many others who did not.
Times have not changed anything. Talk about Jesus happens all the time, especially around Easter and Christmas. People talk about who He really was. Most accept that He really did exist, but few accept that He is the Son of God. Many do not like to think about the spiritual realm of life.
While people refuse to acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God, there are demons who fall down before Him acknowledging who He is. The demonic world knows who Jesus is and the power and authority that He has. There is no doubt in their minds.
You, as a believer, must decide who you see Jesus as. Was He just a good prophet? Or just a good teacher? Was He just a man?
Or is He someone more?
When you realize who Jesus is–the Son of God–you will be like the demons in that you will fall down before Him. You will give Him full authority over your life. You will honor Him for who He really is.
Jesus is either just an ordinary man. Or He is the Son of God.
Jesus is either your Savior. Or He will be your judge.
Do you know Jesus?
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the power Jesus has; that you will know the authority Jesus has; and that you will live for Jesus.
