Romans 5:8 God’s Demonstration Of True Love

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

According to the world, true love shows what is in it for self. People ask what they can get out of love for themselves, rather than what they can give to others. Even in the process of giving to others, it is often to gain some recognition or power for self.

The world recognizes that the best love is when one person sacrifices himself to save or help another person. This can be seen among the military and emergency personnel.

Paul tells the people that God demonstrated His love for everyone by having Jesus die for them, while they were still sinners.

It is common for many people to feel as if they need to clean up their life and be holy in order for them to come to believe in Jesus or approach God at all. Many people will not even give God a chance, because they know that they are a sinful person, who cannot really change.

God has a love that is perfect and is willing to go above and beyond the ways of this world. Instead of waiting for people to change themselves, God shows His love by dying for the people, while they are still against Him.

All a person must do is repent of his sins and believe in what Jesus did for him. Once this is done, God can then work on him to change him into the person God wants him to be. He can work on removing sinful habits and making him holy and righteous in Christ Jesus.

The first step in all of this amazing process was taken by God. He chose to show His perfect love first and all people need to do is accept it and then work on being changed.

God loves you. He loves you so much that He was willing to have Jesus die for you, while you were still against Him.

Take a moment to recognize how much God loves you to die for you while you hated Him. Give your life to God, by repenting of your sins and having faith in what Jesus did for you.

Do not reject God’s great love for you. He is willing to give you life, abundant life, if you just trust in Him.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the love God has for you; that you will know what Jesus did for you; that you will have faith in Jesus; and that you will allow God to change your life.

Acts 9:22 Even The Worst Can Be Changed

Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah. Acts 9:22

With the high level of media in the lives of people, many doubt what they see or read. Things in the media can be manipulated to say anything a person wants it to say to go along with his agenda or desired results.

As this occurs, it creates a world of doubt as to what is happening or can actually happen. People begin to doubt everything, because everything can be manipulated.

As Saul was heading to Damascus to kill or put believers in prison, Jesus got a hold of his attention and changed him. Afterwards Saul worked hard at proving that Jesus is the Messiah, baffling all of the Jews around him.

It is often very difficult for people to look at some person and believe that it is possible for him to change for the better. The person lives in such a way that there does not appear to be any hope for him at all.

This is a person that lives to sin, hate God, hate Christians and live for himself only. Sometimes, even the world does not like this type of person. Believers will often write this person off as hopeless and many won’t even attempt to witness to him about the love of Jesus.

The truth is that every person is just as bad as he is in the eyes of God when it comes to sin. Every person is a sinner, needing forgiveness and salvation.

God is willing to forgive anyone and everyone of all sins when the person repents.

If Saul, who was directly fighting against Jesus, can be saved, anyone can be saved. No believer should write off any person as hopeless.

At one point in your life you were a sinner needing to be forgiven and saved. You rejected Jesus, either openly or without knowing, but still needed Him. You were no different than the most vile sinner ever.

Someone took the time to be a witness to you and you chose to believe in Jesus and be saved. If there was hope for you, there is also hope for others.

Do not give up on any person because they are so harsh against God or Jesus. God is willing and can save any person on this earth. Give everyone a chance to believe in Jesus.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will be a witness for Jesus to everyone you meet; that you will seek to show your enemies who Jesus is; that you will give every person a chance to believe in Jesus; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.

John 9:25 Just Tell What You Know

He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” John 9:25

Talk is something that is easy for most people. For some people they can talk about anything and everything, regardless of how much or how little they know about the subject.

People like to talk in such a way that it makes them look like they know what they are talking about, even when they don’t. They will make up information, just so they will look intelligent on the subject.

After being healed of blindness, by someone he did not know, a man was being questioned by the Pharisees. He tells them that he doesn’t know whether the man is a sinner or not, but tells them that he was blind but can now see.

Believers are often questioned by non-believers about things God has done in their lives or in the lives of others. The bible is often questioned as to the truth of it.

Sometimes these questions are beyond the knowledge of the believer. Some will try to make up information to make it appear that know everything about God and His ways. This will often cause a bad argument and lead to no where.

Instead of talking about what one does not really know about, he should just say what he knows. Two things that every believer knows is what God has done in his life, and why he believes in Jesus.

There is no believer who knows absolutely everything about God or the Bible. Speaking the basic truth that one knows will keep one from falsehood and getting into a trap that the world tries to set for a believer.

As one speaks this way, he is revealing truth.

As a believer you have your own story to tell of what God has done in your life and what you know about God. There will be many things that you do not know or understand about God and the bible.

Do not try to appear super intelligent, but speak only what you know is truth in your life. The simplest thing you can say that no one can refute is your telling what God has done in your life. Anything beyond that can lead to falsehood or wrong motives.

Go and tell people what you know.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will tell others what God has done for you; that you will speak God’s truth at all times; that God will guide you in understanding His word to you; and that God will guide you to keep you from falling into the traps of this world.

1 Timothy 1:14 Abundant Grace

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 1:14

The world does not understand what grace is. For the majority of people, everything is judgement of the law. It is either right or wrong. If one is wrong, there is a negative consequence, with no mercy.

Some have made major mistakes in the past and since regretted it or changed. However, the world does not let them move on. Judgement still continues to occur against them, holding them accountable, even though they have changed and even repented of the wrong, with no grace.

Paul had just described to Timothy how bad of a person he had been against God. Now he points out that God poured out grace, faith and love upon him, accepting him.

Every person that has lived on this earth has lived in sin, with the exception of Jesus. People choose to live in sin, rather than live for God. With this living in even one sin, every person is condemned to die in punishment from God.

Even though every person is condemned to die, God makes a way for change. He allows for forgiveness. This is God’s grace, love and faith being poured out upon the person in abundance.

The amount of God’s grace is multiplied abundantly when one realizes how many times he has sinned against God. For each and every single sin, the judgement of eternal condemnation is upon him, yet, God is right there willing to forgive and move on.

Rather than stand condemned, the believer can stand in complete freedom in God’s grace, faith and love. Paul is not the only one who can receive that abundant grace, but every person who calls upon the name of Jesus in repentance.

You may feel as though you are the worst person that ever walked this earth. Know that Paul also felt that way. Yet, God has grace for you also. God is waiting ready to pour out an abundance of grace upon you as soon as you are ready to repent and trust in Jesus.

Realize how much grace God has given you and then choose to live for God, regardless of the cost to your own life. God is not out to condemn you, but to save you. He has an abundance of grace, faith and love waiting for you to use.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the grace of God upon you; that you will live for God; that you will repent of any sins against God; that you will live in His abundant grace, faith and love.
